About me
I aim to use the counselling style and techniques best suited to each
individual
client, their background and their problems.
I have many years experience working with clients from a wide range of cultural
backgrounds and work with individual, individuals as well as couple. My core
training is in humanistic and person-centred counselling. I integrate different
therapy models and adapt to each client's individual needs. I provide
a safe and confidential and non-judgemental environment.
I have a nursing background. However, My early counselling skills training
with Victim Support, Cruse
Bereavement Care and Samaritans was base on integrate,
supportive approach. From this I have developed a more natural, informal interactive
style.
I use cognitive techniques to some extent to assist clients to find their own
solutions as it is the most appropriate for some clients. I work with individual
or individuals to develop their awareness of themselves and their problems
and to explore their individual experience of anxiety and distress and to encourage
insight into repeating patterns or behaviour that may be preventing them from
leading and achieving a satisfying lives.
